October 9, 2009 - Sami's Second Surf Lesson & Our Second Braai

Sami took another surf lesson today, this time in a small group with a proper 3-hour course. It was very insightful and Sami got a chance to work on his technique and determine whether he was a natural footer (right foot in the back) or goofy footer (right foot in the front). After a fair bit of trial and error, he determined he is a natural footer. After figuring that out, he was able to stand up on the board a couple of times before the end of the lesson.

We all vowed to hit the waves again after lunch, but no one seemed up for it (one of the girls had developed some nasty bruises, and we were all sore). So instead we enjoyed a yummy homemade lunch in our little mini-house.

The the evening we went for the big braai at the bar and had some excellent food. We spent the night talking with some of the American students again and played a round of pool.
