October 5, 2009 - Port St Johns & The T-Bone Steak

Today we headed to Amapondo backpackers in Port St Johns. The road conditions were just terrible, so it took us a couple hours longer than our daring GPS, Lily, had calculated.

Amapondo is very much a hippy hang, and just about everyone we met had long dreads, hemp clothing, and smelled like weed. Needless to say, it was very chilled out, and it had a very nice view of Port St John's stunning Second Beach. We spent some time in the outdoor lounge area, where some locals played hand drums and Gen and I played a fierce match of table tennis. We headed to the beach in the evening, where we ate the most delicious T-Bone steaks we have ever had at one of the local restaurants - Wood N Spoon. The steaks were roasted by hand right on the fire!!
